my zombie mask has gone to shit. i believe due to an improper ratio of plaster to water my mold for my zombie mask turned out horrible. an overwhelming lack of detail was picked up, aswell as several issues due to air bubbles. the sculpt itself was ruined pretty bad as well when it was pulled from the mold, so theres no chance to re-mold. this is a rather disapointing set back for me, i was highly looking forward to finishing this piece. a good chunk of my time and money was just wasted, im reluctant to start a new one without doing further research on how to do it properly. i appologize to anyone who may have been looking forward to this...but its not over.

So ive been inspired by a few top notch sculptors and mask makers here on DA, and earlier this week i began the first stages of a Zombie mask. the sculpt took about 5 days (working about 1-2 hours per day) to complete. pics were taken after each day to show  progress. Ive posted pics in my gallery and would love some feedback and thoughts. hopefully tomorrow or even possibly tonight i intend to make the mold for this piece. ive already picked up my plaster, i now just have to find something to mix and contain my mold in, more progress pics will be added as this project advances. thanks for looking!!

ok so this is my first journal entry on DA, so i figured id take this time to explain a little about myself and my artistic nature. ive always loved art, all types of art and all medias of art. i love drawing.. i love using pen, pencil, and markers. Painting is something i am still new to. i started painting about 2 years ago and have done a total of 4 paintings, one of which being the Spiderman that i submitted recently. i paint using acrylic paints. i also love to sculpt, which is also something i dont do alot of. being a long time fan of slipknot i made a replica of lead singer Corey Taylor's mask off their Subliminal Verses Record. everything from the sculpt to the mold to the painting and strapping of the mask. ive also sculpted small 3" figurines, Wolverine (X-men) being one of them.  i also enjoy modifying art. picking up cheap baby dolls from thrift stores and mutilating them to look like tortured and butchered victims of a madman. i love photography, i like taking pics of dark clouds and just cool things i see around the community or in nature. i like experimenting with makeup when taking photographs and i like expressing emotion when taking photographs. i also enjoy digtal editing of artwork and photos, ie. photoshop and related programs. altho its been a while sinse ive touched any of those. the bottom line is, i basically just love art, all types all styles, wether its highly detailed and mind blowing, or incredibly simple but clever, there is not a single type of art that doesnt have the potential to make me say WOW!  i feel when it comes to art i cant do anything great but i can do everything good, and im here to share my work with you fellow deviants. *tips hat*
